We began our journey at the Stuart Lake Trailhead where we easily found parking and paid our permit. Equipped with our trusty headlamps, we treaded into a majestic forest, its towering trees casting enchanting shadows. The early morning darkness added an air of mystery and anticipation to our adventure as we followed the well-marked path, our footsteps muffled by the soft forest floor and babbling creek beside us.

As we hiked deeper into the woods, the faint sounds of wildlife began to fill the air. The occasional hoot of an owl or the rustle of small creatures scurrying about added to the magic of the pre-dawn atmosphere. The canopy overhead began to thin, allowing glimpses of a sky adorned with a tapestry of stars.
