ABOUT

MY STORY

Alison, or Ali as many call her, is a mid-west transplant. Born and raised in Iowa, she likes to say "the pine trees and the cool breeze" brought

her to the West Coast, where she currently lives in Washington.

Ali's love affair with travel started at an early age. As a child, she loved visiting her family in Maine, at 18 she was volunteering her summers in Haiti, and at 21 she was studying abroad in South Africa.

Prioritizing travel has led Ali to experience an incredibly fulfilling life. She has wandered rice fields in Bali, become a local in South Africa, and explored the pyramids of Egypt. She has bathed elephants in Thailand, hiked mountains in Washington, and managed to get lost and detained in the kingdom of Lesotho.

On any given day, you might find Ali snapping photos with her camera, playing pickleball, and snuggling with her kitty cats. As a traveler, history buff, and nomad at heart, Ali has a deep-rooted appreciation for a responsible, well-traveled, and adventurous life.

RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL

Passionate about responsible travel, Ali seeks out ethical tourism experiences that promote a more harmonious coexistence and benefit local communities, wildlife, and nature.

  • To travel vegan is to travel responsibly. By eating a plant-based diet, Ali lessens the impact on local environments and food and water resources. Ethical travel isn’t just about what she puts in her stomach, it also includes avoiding the exploitation of all living beings.

  • When exploring the national parks and protected marine life reserves, Ali does so in a meaningful and educational manner by collaborating with local conservationists who are on the frontline to protect their environment and the wildlife that call it their home.

  •  Giving back to the communities that welcome Ali and her guests is very important. She believes travel should be beneficial for both the travelers and also for the local communities she visits.
